Hi there! My name is Tom Ewer and I am a 28-year-old from a town called Rugby in the UK.
I am a freelance writer and professional blogger. I’ve been blogging since June 2011 and in that time have earned over $100,000 while working just a handful of hours per day. I have made more than $6,000 in a single month from freelance blogging while working just 2-3 hours per weekday at an hourly rate of $161 per hour. My rate never dips below $150 per hour these days.
However, that wasn’t the case in 2011. Back then I had a 9-to-5 job like most people. More than anything else I wanted freedom from the shackles of employment.
I tried a huge number of ways of making money online — from buying wholesale and selling retail on eBay to creating “niche sites” in an effort to create advertising revenue. But to cut a long story short, I spent months working on business ideas that all failed spectacularly. Far from making money, I was losing it.
However, in October 2011, everything changed. After exhausting all of the “passive income” opportunities I could think of, I decided to take a different approach. Three months later, in December 2011, I quit my job.
That aforementioned different approach was freelance blogging.
In the beginning I didn’t expect anyone to hire me — after all, I nearly failed English at school and had absolutely no professional writing experience. Fortunately, I was wrong.
When I received my first payment from a client — $121.50 — I couldn’t quite believe the opportunity I had stumbled across. I couldn’t believe that a modest talent I had all but ignored for the whole of my adult life could be leveraged to make money.
I went on to make $1,574 in January 2012 (my first month as a “full time” freelance writer) and then doubled and nearly tripled my earnings in subsequent months.
I haven’t looked back since – I now make a living from my laptop. I work from anywhere in the world (as long as there is a power supply and an internet connection).
I built my freelance blogging business from scratch with no prior experience or qualifications and now I want to teach you how to do the same.
